I believe this guitar was a "house brand" of J CPenney. The logo on this headstock stopped being used in 1971. The build date clearly stamped inside the guitar is May 12, 1969. Obviously, Penney's didn't manufacture guitars, so I believe this to be a Kay. It is in incredible condition and someone thought enough of it to put a Dearmond FHC-C on it!
